2016
State 6A Tournament - Elite 8
Final State 6A Ranking - 5th
Region 7 Tournament - 3rd
DeKalb County "Spikefest" Champions
Record: 34-17 Overall, 5-3 Region
For the fourth consecutive year the Dunwoody Lady Wildcats made the Elite 8 in the GHSA State Volleyball Tournament. Three players were named All-Region, Bridget Boyle and Amanda Gild (1st Team), Madison McKnight (2nd Team). The big unknown going into the 2016 season was the fact that Dunwoody was being moved up classifications from 5A to 6A. Adding to the unknown was that Dunwoody was being placed into the most competitive volleyball region in Georgia. The strength of the new region was proven later in the year when all 5 teams from the region, to qualify for state, made it to the final 8 and 3 to the final 4. The season ended with an epic hard fought 5 set match to region rival Cambridge (18-25, 25-17, 30-32, 25-20, 8-15), and if you are adding the points, that's 106 to 109. This senior class will graduate with a strong 4 year record of 142-61.
